The Werk Out Festival Announces Lineup for 3rd Annual Event, Relocates to Legend Valley September 20-23
The Werk Out Festival  4/23/2012

Dayton, OH – Ohio’s nationally-touring jamband powerhouse, The Werks, are thrilled to announce the initial lineup for its 3rd annual The Werk Out Festival held Thursday through Sunday, September 20–23, which will relocate this year’s event to the historic Legend Valley Concert Venue and. Building off their success as a band, The Werks are set to throw their greatest Werk Out Festival ever.

For 3 nights, The Werks will be fusing psychedelic and shredding guitar, a screaming classic rock organ, funk slap bass, and modern dance beats and synthesizers. This unique and highly danceable sound has been winning over audiences at clubs and festivals across the country and now on home stereos too with the release of this spring’s eponymous album. Their new CD aptly titled The Werks is available as a digital download online for a pay-what-you-want download at http://thewerks.bandcamp.com.

The first round of artists joining the host band this year are String Cheese Incident-born dubstep outfit EOTO, global roots band Rusted Root, Ohio’s legendary ekoostik hookah and a special performance from The Everyone Orchestra, an entirely improvisational project headed by musician Matt Butler and some of the Werk Out’s most talented performers.

Additional performers include ZOOGMA, Kung Fu, DrFameus (featuring Allen of The Disco Biscuits), The Heavy Pets, Dirtfoot, The Twin Cats, Strange Arrangements, The Macpodz, Roster McCabe, Elemental Groove Theory, Funktion, Glostik Willy, Attak & Carma, Rahbee, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Skeetones, Jesters of Kindness, Bang~Bang, pH Factor and many more to be announced.

Formerly known as Buckeye Lake Music Center, the sprawling festival grounds of Legend Valley have played host to some of Ohio’s most memorable live performances of the past five decades including half a dozen Grateful Dead concerts as well as tour stops from Lollapalooza, AC/DC, WOMAD, The Allman Brothers Band, and numerous other large events.
