In the spring of 2004, Seattle's Stolen Ogre released the "ROAD TO JERICHO" CD on the Seattle based Shadowhawk Records marking the bands first full length recording. Two songs, "Jericho" and "Love Me Alone" went on to receive airplay nationwide from Maine to California. Pennsylvania's WVIA in had the ROAD TO JERICHO album on the charts for 8 weeks with the album peaking at #2 for 2 weeks. Out of over 500 CD's, WVIA selects ROAD TO JERICHO as one of it's "Best of 2004" along with releases from artists such as Ben Harper, Gov't. Mule and Elvis Costello among others.  Enigma Magazine notes of the CD, "Bottom line it's rock, folk, jam and pop all mixed together into one big happy concoction."

Stolen Ogre played its debut New York City show at the famed Lion's Den with The Village Voice giving the show a "Recommended" note by writer Richard Gehr ("The Phish Book" Co-written by Richard Gehr and Phish.)

In 2005 as a national Relix Jamoff winner, Stolen Ogre made its first appearance on a special Relix CD and in the January 2006 issue was touted as one of Relix's Hot New Bands among some of the best unsigned groups in the country.   The song "Icing" was selected for the compilation. The June/July 2006 issue of Relix Magazine (Pete Townsend Cover) included a new compilation which featured "Jericho", the title track from "Road To Jericho".

Mick Skidmore (Relix, Kyndmusic.com) writes about the band: "Stolen Ogre is quite simply one of the best bands I have heard in a long time. Their debut album Road To Jericho (Shadowhawk Records) has been one of my favorites of the year... if you haven’t heard Road to Jericho, I urge you to investigate. Tobiason has a great voice and again there’s not a bad track among the album’s ten. This is tomorrow’s classic rock. "

It was on a H.O.R.D.E. festival tour that Stolen Ogre founder and keyboardist McMorrow met and jammed with Blues Traveler drummer Brendan Hill.  His musical encounters with Hill  convinced the two to form a band. As Michael recounts it, “Blues Traveler was headlining the H.O.R.D.E. and Brendan and I would sit in on these incredible jam sessions.” Brendan moved to Seattle, the pair began recruiting other players, and Stolen Ogre was born.

"Michael and I started Stolen Ogre in my basement in Seattle, we started by jamming on the weekends, adding different players. It was so organic, just friends getting together to play, and write music that we all love, together. Road to Jericho is the culmination of the first 5 years of work. As Blues Traveler's schedule ramped up, I handed the sticks over to the very capable hands of Rick Boice , and the band plays on. I am so thrilled by Ogre's current success and recommend everyone to see the band Live.  – Brendan Hill ~ Blues Traveler

"We are not concerned about being "rock and roll" per se,"  explains Michael McMorrow " but what we are about is creating noteworthy, distinctive music. Music that delivers. Music with heart. Music that actually has depth and artistry. It's not just about rock. It's about emotion and art."

Stolen Ogre is currently in the studio working its second Shadowhawk Records release and staying close to their home in Seattle, Washington "conserving fuel" quips McMorrow.
