Everyone Orchestra Announces “Carolina Sessions”
Everyone Orchestra Announces “Carolina Sessions”
Macro-Management Group  2/4/2013

The Everyone Orchestra is pleased to announce the “Carolina Sessions,” a three-day mini-tour in Raleigh and Asheville, N.C., on March 7th through March 9th, 2013. The Everyone Orchestra creates a unique band experience as conductor Matt Butler leads a rotating roster of musicians while making crowd participation a central piece of the performance. The “Carolina Sessions” will feature Kyle Hollingsworth (String Cheese Incident) on organ, Reed Mathis (Tea Leaf Green) on bass, Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz (ALO) on guitar and John Morgan Kimock on drums. Each night different musicians residing in North Carolina will join the performance to authenticate the “Carolina Sessions” experience, which includes members of Papadosio, Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band, Barefoot Manner, Dark Water Rising, the Mantras, Big Something and more. “Bringing together incredible lineups is one my favorite thing about Everyone Orchestra,” stated Butler. “Having Kyle, Dan, and John on board is like working with old friends. Bringing them together with local talent for these shows will widen our community and add excitement to our musical creations.”

The Everyone Orchestra presents a different collaboration of musicians and new musical creations at every show. The “Carolina Sessions” are a three-day mini-tour in North Carolina starting with two nights in Raleigh. The performances are centered around improvisational cues from Butler, written on a hand-held white boards, conducting musicians on stage and at times encouraging every attendee to clap their hands or sing in sync with the band, effectively becoming the “choral” section. “The end result is music that is not chaotic or avant garde, but feels composed and magical because everyone knows it is being created on the spot,” Butler said.

The “Carolina Sessions” begin at the Southland Ballroom in Raleigh, N.C. on Thursday, March 7th and Friday, March 8th. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the show. Saturday, March 9th, the Everyone Orchestra performs at Asheville Music Hall in Asheville, N.C. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 the day of the show. Tickets are available for purchase online thorough EveryoneOrchestra.com, SouthlandBallroom.com and AshevilleMusicHall.com.

Since conception in 2001, the Everyone Orchestra performed at music festivals including Jam Cruise, High Sierra and All Good in addition to many venues around the country like Sullivan Hall (New York). In the past, the project performed in North Carolina for Smilefest and Jomeokee music festivals and in 2007 at the Grey Eagle (Asheville, N.C.), the Neighborhood Theatre (Charlotte, N.C.) and the Empire Room (Greensboro, N.C.).
