[ Aug 10, 2012 - Share ]

Dallas, TX - Aug 7, 2012. North American syndicated Rock radio show InTheStudio: The Stories Behind History's Greatest Rock Bands gets a rare peek into the world of one of America's iconic musical treasures, the Grateful Dead. From their inception in 1965's San Francisico Haight/Ashbury district, the Grateful Dead were highly prolific writers and released many albums through 1980, even releasing two classics in one year, American Beauty and Workingman's Dead in 1970. But as the 1980s rolled on, the band experienced a dry spell on new material and studio releases, choosing instead to focus on touring. By 1986 however, it was apparent that the dry spell had become a full- fledged creative drought. Adding injury to insult midway through the decade, Grateful Dead singer/songwriter/lead guitarist Jerry Garcia went into a coma from undiagnosed diabetes and almost died. So the album In The Dark, that emerged in July 1987 was truly the resurrection of the Dead, becoming the band's top-selle...

EOTO Announces First Leg of Fall Tour EOTO Announces First Leg of Fall Tour
[ Aug 10, 2012 - Share ]

EOTO just announced the first leg of their 2012 fall tour after a huge festival season packed with headlining performances at some of the nation’s hottest summer events. The duo known best for their 100% all improvised performances, and their newly fashioned 3D Lotus Stage production, will be kicking off their fall tour this October in Arcata, CA with stops all along the pacific coast before heading east for theater performances throughout the Midwest.

What exactly does 100% improvised mean? For EOTO it means creating each track from the bottom up with organic instrumentation (guitars, synths, drums bass and vocals) and digital DJ technology to produce each song live before your eyes. EOTO never uses samples, pre-recorded loops, and never rips tracks from previously recorded material. Instead, the duo blasts each and every note, approaching each “theme” with wild abandon while allowing the energy of the crowd to dictate the mood and vibe of each perfo...
