Message from Donna Jean Godchaux Band with Jeff Mattson

In a message from Donna Jean and the Tricksters, we have found that Jeff Matson (lead guitar/vocals) has unfortunately suffered a collapsed lung and therefor, the band will not be able to play Gratefulfest at Nelson Ledges as scheduled for the July 4th weekend.

Jeff is expected to fully recover very soon and the band will be back to jam soon. Here is the message from the band:

The good news is that Jeff Mattson will, in a couple of weeks, be fully recovered and the Donna Jean Godchaux Band with Jeff Mattson will be ready to cruise into a summer of making great music.

The bad news is that yesterday (June 25th) he suffered a partially collapsed lung and had to undergo surgery this morning, which means that he and the band cannot perform at Nelson Ledges this 4th of July weekend.

We want to express our sincere regrets to our good friends at Nelson Ledges and all our fans for having to miss the gig. Man proposes, the Universe disposes. We'll make it up to you next year, promise!

Meantime, Donna Jean will be representing the band and sitting in with various friends, including (but not necessarily limited to!) the New Riders of the Purple Sage and Boombox.

(signed),

the Donna Jean Godchaux Band with Jeff Mattson
