Formed by members of 90's San Francisco Hip-Hop/Jazz pioneers, Alphabet Soup; Les Claypool's (Primus/Sausage); and Bob Weir's RatDog, the Band of Brotherz explore/remix songs of the Grateful Dead through hip-hop.  The band has officially solidified after the release of this album and is playing live dates, currently touring in the California.

The band's self description is classic and well descriptive of their vibe: "The music is best described as revolutionary urban music, threatening a higher level of social consciousness with an infectious danceable groove, seamlessly blending hip hop, live instruments, samples, politics, alien technology, reggae, revolution, bong hits, freedom, poetry, justice, tofu products, and world peace..."
