Boone, NC (June 27, 2011) -  Music On the Mountaintop has confirmed the list of performers slated for the fourth annual two-day music festival outside Boone, North Carolina this August 26-27, 2011.  The performer lineup at the camping festival includes: Sam Bush; Railroad Earth; Greensky Bluegrass; Acoustic Syndicate; Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band; Frontier Ruckus; Town Mountain; Do It To Julia; Naked Gods; the Mantras; the New Familiars; the Lazybirds; the Native Sway; Bafoodus; Simplified; Uncle Mountain and Secret B-Sides. More artists and festival details will be announced in the coming weeks.

Music On the Mountaintop is held at the Grandfather Campgrounds in Foscoe, North Carolina. The first year at the new location, the venue is located approximately ten miles from Boone, North Carolina, providing portable water throughout, several public restrooms and bathhouses, a public store, and over 200 shaded campsites. The campgrounds provide the perfect setting for the ecologically driven festival, which focuses on educational awareness on pressing environmental issues. Music On the Mountaintop will work closely with Mountain Alliance and Appalachian Voices, to continue efforts for a cleaner more sustainable world.

Music on the Mountaintop's innovative approach to festival entertainment creates an eclectic blend of acoustic funk, folk, Americana and Bluegrass.  “Our goal is to have the highest quality of music, across the board,” says festival director James Hunt. “We are introducing new genres, while maintaining what we are built upon.”

Early bird tickets are on sale now for a limited time only and begin at $35 for a single day ticket and $70 for a weekend pass. Tickets are available online at www.musiconthemountaintop.com. There will be two levels of camping this year. Level One, standard camping will be made available for  $15 in addition to the festival pass and Level Two is primitive camping, available for $12 in addition to the festival pass.
