Hangtown Halloween Ball kicks it up a notch!

Tickets are moving fast for the inaugural Hangtown Halloween Ball set to take place at the gateway to the High Sierras on October 28-30. The three-day festival will feature a stellar genre-bending line up of some of the nation’s top independent performers, including the late addition of urban-Latino sensation Ozomatli. Plus, as an exciting and unusual bonus, Railroad Earth has announced that they will be playing an improvised original score to the 1922 Horror Classic film, “Nosferatu,” to kick off the festivities on Friday evening. Fans will be able to watch the film, often referred to as the “symphony of horror,” while listening to RRE’s spontaneous musical response to the classic visuals. That special performance will be followed by an evening show with Bay Area faves, New Monsoon, as well as other guests!

The Hangtown Halloween Ball kicks off Oct 28th with a hefty schedule of music spanning the Halloween weekend, which includes the legendary Funky Meters, Ozomatli, 7 Walkersfeat. Bill Kreutzmann, David Grisman Sextet, Zach Deputy, Melvin Seals and JGB, Elephant Revival, New Monsoon, and, of course, two evenings of performances (Sat and Sun) by Railroad Earth…each night featuring two full sets!  The “Nosferatu” set on Friday will be one of three performances by RRE over the weekend. This not-to-be-missed set will likely be one of the highlight performances of the year for Railroad Earth, and will set the tone for the frightfully fun events planned for the deluxe camping event.

The festival will occur at the beautiful El Dorado County Fairgrounds, which features breath taking mountain views and some of the most accommodating amenities on the camping circuit…including hot showers, flushing toilets, a full-view VIP area and two stages (indoor and out). The El Dorado County Fairgrounds is just a 2 hour hop from San Francisco, one hour from Tahoe and just 45 minutes from Sacramento, in the Gold Rush town of Placerville, CA --- the perfect late fall destination area. Event planners have been working tirelessly to decorate and elate the festival vibe with top notch visual enhancements and special events, such as traveling gypsy card readers and other spooky and supernatural happenings to bring us all on a trip into the afterworld.

Known as one of most celebratory holidays of the year, the Hangtown Halloween Ball has a little something for everyone. If you love Halloween, the art of costuming, and great live music, this is the festival event for you!
