EOTO Announces New Year’s in the Midwest
1,216 Viewed  - 0 Dug it

America’s only all improvised live electronica and dubstep duo, EOTO, will close out the year with a weekend packed with two incredible mid-west New Year’s shows. Known for blowing the doors off of theaters and festivals alike with their one-of-a-kind blend of electronic dance music and HD visuals, EOTO has announced they will be joining The Disco Biscuits and Abakus in Chicago at the Auditorium Theater on Dec 30th. Then on Dec 31st the band will make their way to Minneapolis for a headlining New Year’s blow-out at the Skyway Theater.

Since 2008, Michael Travis and Jason Hann of EOTO have taken on a brutal tour schedule packing in nearly 150 national shows a year. Armed with thousands of performance hours, it is no surprise the duo has become masters of a skill very few have yet to imagine. By incorporating real instruments alongside high-tech computer programming and the tools of a traditional DJ, the band has made major headway in a very short time.

With no two shows alike, fans have come to expect the unexpected.  Changes in mood, energy, and inspiration are reflected—in real-time—by rhythmic and melodic shifts in the music as EOTO makes their way through a plethora of tools and techniques. The duo moves effortlessly from choppy dubstep to whip-smart, four-on-the-floor house to psychedelic trip-hop.  It’s a dance marathon, but everyone’s in it together.

Because EOTO starts fresh every night, the band’s evolutionary progress has been thrust into hyperspeed, eclipsing standard acts who return to their dusty catalog for every performance.  This is apparent when following the musical evolution of their live performances, which are recorded every night and made available to their fans.

EOTO will close out the year with two incredible mid-west New Year’s performances on Dec. 30th and 31st before setting sail on Jam Cruise 2012. For more information about EOTO or for ticket information check out the band’s website at www.eotomusic.com.
