The quintessential Bay Area band, ZERO, will return to San Francisco's Great American Music Hall, giving everyone a reason for a real party.  The show will be a Celebration of Life for lead vocalist, Judge Murphy, who beat liver cancer & received a successful transplant in September of 2011.

"They didn't think I would make it. I'm very lucky to be here. During my darkest hour, my musical brethren, friends, & fans showed tremendous support for me & my family. I couldn't have done this without them, " said Judge Murphy.

This 'Celebration of Life' will commemorate this heartfelt thanks, joy, & power through music, proving that sometimes "A Chance in a Million" happens.  This will also be the only core band appearance for ZERO, in the Bay Area for some time; that features Steve Kimock, Bobby Vega, Greg Anton, Judge Murphy, & Chip Roland.

In March of 2011, ZERO commemorated their most celebrated album to date, 'Chance in a Million', that was recorded live at The Great American Music Hall. The two sold-out shows benefitted their band mate & vocalist, Judge Murphy, who was battling cancer, awaiting organ transplant. Zero finished out the summer of 2011 and shortly after, Judge Murphy received his gift of life, is cancer free & recovering well from his organ transplant. This tenacious band now looks to the future in celebration, bringing their legendary jazz-rock-electric vibe.

On Saturday, Jan 21st, ZERO and special guests play Wavy Gravy's SEVA benefit at the Sebastopol Community Center, which also  includes the David Nelson Band.

ZERO, a psychedelic rock ensemble formed by Steve Kimock and Greg Anton in 1984, is best known for its free flowing jazz-rock-electric sound. For the next two decades the project would feature some of the best talent on the Bay Area circuit including legendary guitarist John Cipollina, Martin Fierro, Nicky Hopkins, Bobby Vega, Pete Sears, Liam Hanrahan, Chip Roland, and many more. In 1991 Zero's collaboration with Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter & the addition of lead vocalist Judge Murphy, brought a new dimension to the ZERO sound.

ZERO released eight highly-acclaimed albums, hundreds of live recordings, and occasionally appear out of nowhere in select continental cities. The band reunited in 2008 to honor the memory of saxophonist Martin Fierro, who passed away earlier that year, leaving a great hole in the musical community.
