Keller Williams and More Than a Little - 2/21/2014: Fillmore Auditorium @ Denver, CO

Keller Williams, Jam Band’s Mad Scientist, has recreated his vibe one more time.  Touring now with More Than a Little, on the What the Funk? Tour, Keller and friends stopped by the Fillmore in Denver for a music-filled evening.  Supported by opening act Nicki Bluhm & the Gramblers, Keller and team “brought the funk!”  The “More Than a Little” band consists of Gerrard Johnson on keys, Tony Fairchild on drums, E. J. Shaw on bass, and Tonya Lazenby and Sugah Davis on back-up vocals.

The evening began with Nicki Bluhm and her band, The Gramblers, bringing their California Country Soul to Colorado.  This warmed up the 3000+ crowd and prepared them to be Funked Up.  Keller opened up with Let’s Jam, from the new album, Funk, segued into Lauryn Hill’s Doo Wop (That Thing).  Next was Right Here then, I Told You I Was Freaky.  This morphed into a funky version of the Talking Heads’ Once in a Lifetime.  The rest of the show was highlighted by Keller Williams’ classics, Freeker by the Speaker and Cadillac.  The set wrapped up with Nicki and Tim Bluhm joining the band for Tom Petty’s You Don’t Know How It Feels, and the set closer was Hey Ho, Jorge, with J. J. Grey sitting in on harmonica.

As always, Keller Williams gave his fans a fun-filled evening.  The venue is very similar in its layout and décor to the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco, and has hosted a who’s who of musical royalty.

Setlist:

Let’ Jam > Doo Wop (That Thing), Right Here, I Told You I Was Freaky > Once in a Lifetime, Freeker by the Speaker, Talk to the Fist, Cadillac, Mary Jane, You Don’t Know How It Feels *, Hey Ho, Jorge #

*with Tim and Nicki Bluhm
